Creative Exploration
Hi there !
I’m Monisha Udaya Shankar, a 29-year-old artist from Bangalore, India. While I’ve built my career as a banking professional, my true passion lies in art, especially the meditative beauty of Mandalas.
My journey began with a spark—an inspiring encounter with a woman who introduced me to Mandala art. What started as curiosity soon grew into something deeply personal and transformative. Over the years, Mandala art has become my sanctuary. It’s more than just patterns on paper—it’s a therapeutic practice, helping me connect with patience, stillness, and the harmony of heart, mind, and soul.
Through What’s in a Mandala, I’ve explored a wide variety of traditional Indian art forms including Kalamkari, Madhubani, and Pichwai, blending them seamlessly with mandala structures. I’ve worked with watercolor, acrylic, ink, and now, I’m embracing the digital art space.
Digital Expansion & Vision
As my creative journey evolves, I’ve begun offering digital downloads, printable mandalas, coloring pages, wallpapers, and more through platforms like Etsy, Gumroad, and Redbubble. My digital work is designed to bring mindfulness, elegance, and cultural fusion into everyday spaces.
The vision for What’s in a Mandala is to become a multifaceted art platform that bridges traditional and contemporary styles—through both handmade and digital forms. From physical prints and fusion art to mockups, tutorials, and even online workshops, this space will continue to grow as a celebration of creativity, healing, and heritage.
Whether you’re here to explore, color, decorate, or learn—I’m so glad you found your way to this space.
